EC coil formers are winding bodies for EC ferrite core geometries. They are used in DC/DC converters, switch-mode power supplies, pulse transformers and transductor applications.
Horizontal EC versions support horizontal assembly concepts and can be equipped with different pin systems. Vertical EC versions support upright assemblies and use EC solder blades for side winding and soldering.
EC/CO coil formers are especially suitable for winding with flat wires and tapes and for applications requiring very low installation heights.
EC coil formers typically use glass-fibre reinforced PA66 p6g with RTI +125°C. Distance rings may use PA66 A RV250 natural with RTI +100°C or PET SKYT.5220FR with RTI +155°C depending on variant.
Depending on configuration, EC coil formers can support short-term soldering temperatures up to +350°C for up to 2 seconds.
FK-EC spring clips are used to connect EC core halves in horizontal and vertical designs. Two clips are required per core set and coil former.
